Feedback,feedback,feedback

The course is over. It was challenging and exciting.

This posting is to comment on my reaction on the different feedbacks I received form all my colleagues about my work, which includes this blogging roll. Thus, my reaction is really positive, just as the overall feedback. Everybody was honest and had something constructive to say about my work. Some critical points, which I absolutely agree and appreciate everyone for their comments. You all guys also did an awesome job.

The Projection on Cherry Creek

Once the video was finished, I went to Cherry Creek neighborhood, which is one of the “wealthiest” neighborhoods in Denver, and projected “Life in the Hoods” on the garage door of a house. By doing so, I brought one of the poorest neighborhoods into one of the richest ones, creating thus, with certain sarcasm, a critique to the way of living of the people in the rich neighborhood.

The end of the non-sense

“This is the end”, said a voice.

The path was never straight forward, and it was always full of obstacles. Walking the line was a non-sense. Y sin embargo, aqui estamos, al final del camino.

The show is over and everyone is now leaving their seat; they are dropping out, just like all those kids of this ‘hood’ drop out from school. What are they doing? Why do they follow the same path that other did before them? Is it perhaps because the way society has been structured, has been pushing them to resolve their lives in such a way? Or is it perhaps the lack of identity because their immigrant parents have been forced to live on the edge of society. A society that doesn’t give any value to the knowledge and skills that those who arrive to this country bring with them.

But hold on! the last performance is about to begin!

Thus I have here the last piece (re-edited) of “Life in the Hoods”, another short video with all the most important data collected
for the project, and photographs of the different neighborhoods where I spent a deal of time roaming around in order to become familiar with the environment and the possibilities.
